The St John of God Bendigo Hospital has permanently welcomed Rosie as a wellbeing dog to support caregivers within their community. Massive thanks to The Bendigo Advertiser and Chris Pedler for sharing this exciting news!

CEO of the Hospital Michelle Stares initially welcomed the Dogs Connect program, and Jack the wellbeing dog, on a temporary basis last year to help reduce caregivers stress and anxiety levels and to ultimately make the hospital a more enjoyable place to work.

Caregivers feel less stressed thanks to wellbeing dog

The positive impact of a wellbeing dog in the workplace didn’t go unnoticed…
“Jack was considered part of the team, engaged with our caregivers and received an incredible response, ”

“Caregivers reported a reduction in their stress levels due to having a wellbeing dog within the hospital.

“This reduction in stress levels generated a flow-on effect, which also created a more positive experience for our patients.” said Michelle.

Fast forward to now and Rosie has spent the last month settling into her new role with the St John of God healthcare workers.
