Project Description

Bendigo South East College is a large secondary school in regional Victoria.  With support from Bendigo Community Health Services and School Focused Youth Services the school was able to engage the Dogs Connect Full Scale program and introduce Barkley as a permanent member of the school community in 2019.

Barkley is a female standard Groodle and she has settled in beautifully. She is based with the wellbeing team but spends lots of time in class, on yard duty, in the Student Support Centre, and in many other places during her days at work. Evidence gathered so far shows a significant number of students indicating that Barkley is helping them feel relaxed, focused and happier to be at school.

The staff at BSE are feeling the positive effects in their workplace as well, and we are certain that Barkley is also very happy with the line of work she has chosen!
